With a patriot’s heart & a skeptical view A tentative belief in those on marble steps I ask to show me your heroes But knowing exterior appeasement is false Honoring the Flag doesn’t equate To praising those who run the State Knowing by virtue of appearing on a ballot They’re not worthy
