I’m trying to listen to your body
Trying to feel my way to your heart I’m looking to recover my innocence That which I lost from the start
I’m decidedly envious of your hands
For they always remain with you Forever within reach of your flesh When I must bow & bid thee adieu
I’m continuously jealous of your locket
& the home it has been given to rest The natural glories akin to Heaven God alone could bestow such a treasured chest

True to life, but hard to digest the pain
Adversity compounded living without rest
Altered dreams when slumbers can’t remain
Been ages since she authentically felt her best Like this: Like Loading...

Thought it to be an easy read
Yet the words were hard to digest Meaning dancing slowly in my mind Subtly creeping past the singular rest
Retracing lines to navigate ritual
Where do we reform elegant words Removed from obvious transparency Heaped among the notorious & absurd
But we can still be returned to normal
Reassembled without any scars of the war Truth absolved of the fictions we wrote Back to the pages I quietly implore Like this: Like Loading...

I’m standing under swaying palms
Holding a delicious boat drink I especially like the little umbrella Time away from life – don’t have to think
Smelling like lotion, salt & a sunburn
My soul has truly needed this rest But without you here by my side My heart is still a million miles from Key West Like this: Like Loading...
She wore a smart suit
Setting her apart from the rest She was a fine specimen Altered from her years out West
The tailor created perfection
It loved her feminine curve The details you won’t miss Feeling beauty in your structured nerves
Those blonde curls, nice & tight
Noticing underthings peeking through Regaining my composure in time Don’t want my excitement to be misconstrued

I want the world to be beautiful
So, be confident in your walk I’m forever grateful you exist & I love the sass in your talk You may not always feel it Might not always be your best That’s when you come to me & I’ll put your mind at rest Like this: Like Loading...
I don’t want to look too good
Someone might try to steal me away Flashing all of their charms Trying to make me sway But that’s not who I am Don’t worry you’re pretty head I’ll be home soon enough Resting quietly in your bed Like this: Like Loading...
