Producing Love From The Remnants

Producing love from the remnants
Scraping together all the excess joys
Those neglected in the dire nights
Reformed into a splendid noise

Never believing the crooked ones
Doubts & rebuffs will not hold true
Keeping the mind above the skeptics
For love will endure & awaken you

This Is Life.

This is life. This is reality.
When the pretty words drip away
When the party’s over
You’ve still got to wake & face the day

Digital lovers lavish heaps of praise
Complimenting you on your magnificent blog
While you neglect the physical world
Always remember that pain & loneliness are analog

We’re Allowing The Modern World To Dwindle

We’re allowing the modern world to dwindle

We’ve neglected love & now slowly it dies

Crashing back to from where it came

We’ve messed up this most recent of our tries

A fragmented society in this world of hate

Our streets filled with torch bearing vigilantes

But I’m choosing compassion & joy

I’d rather chase you around in your scanties

Frayed Cuff On Antique Khaki

Frayed cuff on antique khaki
Knowing thy state of dress
I wasn’t as dapper as she was used to
Hoping she wouldn’t think any less

He wasn’t any better than a prig
Her dance card drawing sideways looks
Quietly, she enjoyed my wicked tongue
& the way we shared our crooked books

Shaking the dust off our neglected spines
Certain steps lead to an awkward courtship
But faith in the power of pristine passion
That’s when I met her puckered cherry lips
