I’m Still A Child

I’m still a child
I don’t care for your haughty tones
Such an upright citizen
Plugged your soul into your phone

But I’m still telling stories of Neverland
I’m the Pan – crowing wild & free
Not living within your societal realms
I wouldn’t want you to forget I’m forever me

By Day, You’re Out Fighting Wars

By day, you’re out fighting wars
Wherever politicians decide you need to roam
Diplomacy by air, land & sea
& the lucky ones get to return home

But your training doesn’t include this
Unsure how exactly to be a regular guy
Babies & tiaras & unicorns bebopping around
How to explain a child’s smile can make you cry

Faith In A Baby Child

adult-1869624

I put my faith in a baby child
& He will lead me
I will follow in His path
Being shown what I need to see
I give Him my whole life
I will seek His truth
In my soul He does dwell
Guiding me through days of youth
His love will lift me up
Through the life He gave
I have faith in my Lord
& I know that i am saved
